I remember the feeling of total helplessness

I experienced when we brought our first baby home from the hospital. I did not know how to be a father or how to be a husband. I was a young pastor, in charge of leading a congregation to follow Jesus. But I was painfully aware that I didn’t have a clue how to do that in my own family.

I was reading

Paul’s letter to the Ephesians where he says “Husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the church.”  I didn’t know how to do that.  I also read “Take your children by the hand and lead them in the way of the Master.”  I didn’t know how to do that either. But for 35 years, often stumbling, many times discouraged, I’ve been learning to do that and I want to share what I’ve learned and am still learning.

What We’re About

In Me and My House in Mission we strive to raise a banner to rally people around the mission of the family and to help families find what they need to move ahead in God’s mission.

God’s promise for families

“I will make you as a light for the nations,
that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”

Isaiah 49:6
